Week 57

Haupei Yall!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LIL BRO CRUZ!!! Cannot believe he is 11!

Happy Things!
1. We had divisions this week with our awesome Hermana Lideres! AKA my "tia" Hermana Cardenas, also another hermana that is in the same group to go home with. And oh goodness how I love her! She is a great missionary and a great friend and more anything leads by example. It was a great division and I learned a TON!
2. Our stake had a fun activity for all the recent converts in the stake! A lot of interactive activities, but also a lot of spiritual strengthening. We got to take Juan Carlos and Elias and they had a blast getting to know all the other converts in the stake! We also got to see all the missionaries from the other zone too, aka my sweet Hermana Tandiman and her HIJA! Shes the best.
3. On Sunday we had to recoger our convert to go to church. We ended up leaving late from their house for things that we could not control and we arrived late to sacrament meeting. It was right when they were doing the Santa Cena, and in our ward if you are not there when they start to sing the sacrament hymn, you are shut out until the end. I cannot begin to describe the pain and heartache I felt being locked out from taking the sacrament. I have learned here on the mission to really prepare for the sacrament so that I am prepared to take it and truly be sanctified from my sins. I felt a total loss and wondered how I was going to be able to get through a whole week without the renewal of my covenants and a renewed promise of the Spirit. I was reminded of the story of the women with the lamps. We need to be prepared and on time or we will miss out on the bridegroom. Luckily, we were so blessed and humbled to have the opportunity to take the sacrament, just us, after the meeting because of our loving bishop. In that moment my heart was lifted and I truly felt the blessings of the spirit and cleanliness that comes from repenting of our sins and starting over again. It truly strengthened my testimony of the sacrament and I never want to miss it again!

Week 56

Haupei Yall!

Happy Birthday to two of my girly pops Cat and Cry!!!

Happy Things!
1. We had zone conference this week in MY zone! And it was just as good if not better than the other two I was already in! I loved the lesson from Hermana Evans about rededication. We all start something with crazy dedication, or else why would we have started? But sometimes we question that decision because it gets hard or we dont think we can handle it anymore, but in those moments we need to be strong and rededicate ourselves knowing that the Lord WILL bless us with strength!
2. We met a new joven this week named Oliver and he came to church on Sunday! Our youth are so good about welcoming new people and the youth always walk out super happy and arm in arm!
3. One of my converts from Mariano Roque Alonso left on the mission this week to Osorno, Chile! It is so awesome to see how the gospel inspires to serve and give our ALL to the Lord! I know he will be a blessing to the people in Chile!
4. Doctrine and Convenants 24:8- "Be patient in afflictions, for thou shalt have many; but endure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of they days."  We had a lot of opportunities to share this scripture this week with a lots of different types of people with lots of different types of problems and  I can truly testify that the Lord is with us always. We are given challenges to learn and grow, and that is something I have been learning on the mission. Patience is key and trusting the Lord to refine us is where we find true progress.

Week 55

Haupei Yall!

I hope everyone has a great fourth of July! Definitely miss my favorite holiday in the states, but we are going to try and be as american as possible down here!

Happy Things!
1. Well...I am healthy again! turns out I had a little spout with bronchitis, SO I ended up on lockdown for this whole week in the office and with President Evans! It was fun though because I got to go to 2 zone conferences, see lots of faces I love, and spend a lot of time with the best mission president and his wife. OH and cannot forget spending the whole week at my old place in CampĆ³ Grande with the cutest hermanas ever :)
2. I finally got back to my area on Friday! truly back to a house of terror tho... and my companion got sick....SO we are easingggg our way back into life really! and we got a lot of repairs on our house too :)
3. SO last week I mentioned that our investigator Fernando was getting baptized on saturday...BUT God has a perfect plan. We did not get permission this week for him to be baptized, which was just a crazy turn around because we have already had permission to teach him and baptize him! Satan works in mysterious ways, but our faith is bigger and Fernando is ready to be baptized. Lots of prayers for him!
4. Just so happy to be back in my area really and truly :)

I had a lot of time to study this week as well and I just have one question that seems so simple, but really is SO HUGE. Do we really believe that we are of infinite worth as children of God? I think we say it so often we forget just how HUGE it is that we have a God who loves us so much and wants to bless in every way possible. I am so grateful for his love. I know that he is ALWAYS watching over us and ALWAYS ready to bless us in his timing. I know that my challenge on the mission with all the sicknesses is NOT what I had planned, but it is helping me become something and someone that HE has planned from the beginning. I trust him and I know God lives!
